AN INVESTIGATION ON THE EXTRACTION CONCENTRATION OF MICROELEMENTS FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION FOR ATOM-ABSORBTION ANALYSIS
Abstract
Some sodium diethyldithiocarbamate and 8-oxyquinoline based mixtures were tested as potential extractant to concentrate solutions containing ions of Cu2+, Co2+, Pb2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Fe3+, Cd2+ while preparing the samples for atom-absorption analysis. The mixture of butylacetate/sodium diethyldithiocarbamate has shown the best performance. The method of the metal ions determination that combines the sample concentration using this extractant followed by the flame atom-absorption spectroscopy provides high sensitivity and selectivity outperforming characteristics as compared to the classical method of evaporation the concentration of samples.
